Role
2 Squadron is based out of EGQS and is one of vRAFs 2 main frontline Typhoon squadrons. Its role is to provide aircraft for line pilots to fly sorties, for overseas exercises and QRA. There are currently 8 aircraft assigned.

Restrictions
2 Squadron aircraft can only be flown by OCU-qualified line pilots.

QRA
2 Squadron is not currently assigned to QRA duty.

Deployment
2 Squadron aircraft can be taken overseas if permission is granted by the relevant OC.
2 Squadron currently has 4 jets deployed to Akrotiri (LCRA).

Allocations
Airfield ICAO: Jet to be moved (eg LCRA)
QRA: QRA allocated jet not to be flown without permission
Q SPR: QRA spare jet can be flown if no primaries or secondaries left
RTB: Jet to be returned to home base

Other non-standard allocations may be given for trails/exercises etc.
